Bilis Manger is the collected creepy character that you love to be manipulated by.
And this is again what happens in this audio. You have no idea what his play is in this fascinating horror story until the very end.
Speaking of the end, what strikes me is that it’s probably the most “emotional” we’ve seen/heard Bilis. I put quotes because it’s very understated emotions, as is fit for the character. However, Murray Melvin’s performance is so brilliant and Bilis such a slick character that just hearing a little bit of his emotions seep through his facade is striking.
Speaking of performances, Gareth Pierce as the main character conveys the anxiety, the despair – and now that I think about it the five stages of grief – brilliantly.
Finally, kudos to the sound design that adds to the creepiness of it all!

I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did but I am starting to really like Bilis’ character so it was very interesting to get to explore that further. The concept is very cool and the development of the other main character and how he reacted to the situation he was in was really well done.
