This first episode of the new box-set starts…not exactly in media res…but without touching on all the big plot points of the previous episode and it makes it a bit confusing to me.
What adds to my confusion is that I’m not sure I understand what happened in details. I got the gist of it but, yeah, I’m a bit confused on a few details.
I think the plot is best summed up by a line in the audio: “[Yvonne and Norton] deserve each other. I just feel sorry for whoever they bring along with them.”
This poor soul is Andy Davidson, who is as always a delight with his nerdy excitement and usual resilience.
Still, despite some nice Andy touches here and there, I would have loved more character moments, which is probably why I absolutely adore the conversation with Mr Colchester and Jack. It is very human in all of its Torchwood-related weirdness. But this conversation is very much an aside at the beginning of the main plot.
Still, the last few minutes make up for the lack of urgency I felt at what were supposed to be high stakes by setting very interesting pieces for the rest of the box-set.

Norton, Andy and Yvonne 🥺🥺🥺 I love this trio and want more from them. The ending is definitely interesting in setting up the second half of this series.
