Description
Big Finish picks up the events after Miracle Day with Torchwood: Aliens Among Us…
Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper have restarted Torchwood. But it’s in a very different Cardiff. Something terrible’s happened to the city. With every day getting darker, will Torchwood need to adopt a whole new approach?
Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy
Has Cardiff really been invaded by aliens? Tyler thinks he’s found a lead – the daughter of the mysterious Ro-Jedda is getting married and has booked a private party. If Torchwood can infiltrate it, there’s a chance they’ll end up closer to the truth. Free bar, canapes, and the chance to find out what’s really going on. What could possibly go wrong? Soon Torchwood are on the run for their lives, and learning more than they ever wanted to about alien life.

This second episode is better than the first. However, I feel that the characters have had their competence decreased. Though it may be excused for Gwen, Jack barely giving a s**t about what’s going on does not ring true to me.
Again, as with his “no second chance” speech of last episode, I could be convinced with the right character development but there is no such work here. Maybe it’s coming?
I think that’s why the highlight for me is Mr Colchester and his long-suffering attitude. I feel you, man, I feel you. He is the adult in the room.
The plot is neat on its own and advances the overarching story of the new season with three-dimensional guest characters. So far, I’m more sold on the plot than on the characters…which is weird for a Big Finish audio.

I absolutely adore Mr Colchester. For me, this episode was lackluster in parts and I did find it one of the weaker ones of this series, however that being said, the characters absolutely make this story for me.
