The fort has been ravaged by storms since it was built. There are ghosts inside and there’s something alien outside. It’ll do anything to get its release.

Queen Victoria may be on the cover but Maharaja Duleep Singh is the real protagonist and Paul Bazely gives a very convincing and sympathetic performance.
This story is a solid psychological horror story but it suffers in comparison with the recent and fascinatingly creepy Dead Man’s Switch as a horror story with a secondary Torchwood character.
Rowena Cooper is still great as Queen Victoria but, once again, Fortitude suffers in comparison with a previous audio drama on that point. Compared to The Victorian Age, there is far less character development for Queen Victoria (or maybe I connected less this time around) and it doesn’t provide as much history of everyday Torchwood business back then.
To sum it up, I liked this good thriller with solid performances and great sound effects but I couldn’t help thinking about similar releases that I like better.
