Big Finish picks up the events after Miracle Day with Torchwood: Aliens Among Us…

Captain Jack and Gwen Cooper have restarted Torchwood. But it’s in a very different Cardiff. Something terrible’s happened to the city. With every day getting darker, will a new arrival prove to be the ally Torchwood needs?

Herald of the Dawn

A lot of plot lines are all coming together pretty nicely in the finale of Aliens Among Us.
I’m still a bit sceptical about how Jack is written and what his plan is actually supposed to accomplish.

However, there are some nice character moments and interactions.
Orr is becoming a favourite. On top of being a very good and interesting character in their own right, they have a sweet relationship with Mr Colchester and they work well with Jack.
I also hope we get to see more interaction between Yvonne and Ro-Jedda in the future.

As a series finale, it raises more questions than it actually answers: the attacks, God, Orr, Ng, Mr Colchester…
The resolution of the Ng/Gwen plotline is built up and executed nicely and I’m glad they kept a few minutes in this busy episode to let Gwen have a moment.

Overall, a good conclusion to a good series, and it definitely leaves us hanging whilst setting up some new threads for series 6 to pick up.
