This is one you want to listen to with headphones on to fully appreciate the atmosphere set by the sound design.

The monster of the week is a bit inconsequential because what really matters is that it leads to pairs of characters relying on one another in the dark. And the pairs are very good choices.

Colin and Jack are really sweet together and I was surprised at how good it felt to hear Jack genuinely laugh in this range. It’s been a while… Ramon Tikaram continues to play Colin brilliantly and to bring the best out of his co-stars.

Andy and Yvonne are sweet as well…or as sweet as Yvonne allows herself to be. “Thank you for your feedback” was such a good Yvonne line and made me laugh. The two actors have really good chemistry and I can’t wait to hear more of them together.

I’m not sure what happened to Orr exactly made sense but I don’t mind it as it felt this part was very much about setting the pieces for the final episode.

    I love this story!

The relationships between different sets of characters are really developed well. Ng and Orr spent some time together in the dark and it was really nice to see Jack and Colin spending more time together. I loved the parts with Andy and Yvonne trying to save the day together. The scene with them in the car was really good and their scenes later on were perfect.

I also loved the theme of “ordinary, human panic” that ran through the story and was particularly prevalent in the parts of the story that focused on the new, very minor characters who were just citizens caught up in everything.
